27 Players Remain As Day 6 At World Series Of Poker Ends (update)

And Swedish pro Martin Jacobson has retaken the chip lead

The chips have been bagged and the tables are empty for now in the Amazon Room at the Rio in Las Vegas as the 27 survivors of Day 6 at the World Series of Poker main event grab a much needed break before returning on Day 7 to hopefully play down to a final table.

Swedish poker pro Martin Jacobson has again taken the chip lead on 22,335,000, wresting it from double bracelet holder and Los Angeles pro Luis Velador, who is chasing him on 16,600,000.

Still in the game, and now in the six-figure pay-day brackets, are Dan Smith, Bryan Devonshire and Mark Newhouse, along with British players Craig McCorkell and Iaron Lightbourne.

Also still in contention are Daniel Sindelar, Andrey Zaichenko, Eddy Sabat, Kyle Keranen, Leif Force, Sean Dempsey and Scott Palmer.

All the players still standing are now guaranteed pay-outs of at least $286,900. After the 19th player has been eliminated the pay-out goes up to the next level of $347,521 and by the time the first member of the final table has been reached he will earn $730,725, with each member thereafter earning progressively higher amounts.

The action resumes at noon Vegas time today with blinds of 60,000-120,000 with a 15,000 ante, and average stacks at 7,425,556.

The top ten chip counts look like this:
