Last week we reported on yet another EuroMillions ticket which was purchased in the UK, that scooped the jackpot prize of £105m on offer, just several weeks after another ticket bought in the UK won the £190m EuroMillions prize.
Well unlike the winners of the record UK lottery win, last week’s jackpot winners have come forward and waived their anonymity, with Steve and Lenka Thomson being unveiled as the lucky winners of the £105m jackpot.
Steve Thomson and his wife Lenka, hail from West Sussex, in the seaside town of Selsey and were presented to the main stream media on Tuesday this week, after Camelot, the organisers of the lottery in the UK, confirmed they indeed have the winning ticket. With Camelot presenting them both with a life changing cheque amounting to £105,100,701.90.
Speaking about the win, Steve Thomson said: “I started shaking a lot. I knew it was a really big win but didn’t know what to do. I think I was on the verge of having a heart attack. Once I am over the shock I will need to keep doing something.”
“I am not the type just to sit still. My business partner knows that if he needs a hand, I’ll be there. I am not going to flutter it away, at the end of the day I am still Steve. I do not want to change, we are just financially better off.”
Mr Thomson went on to discuss a change in plans for the family’s Christmas celebrations, commenting: “I am not cooking. Mum is not cooking. Lenka is not cooking. It’s so much money, I still can’t get my head around it.”
